Photo Day/ Shepparton Albanian Harvest Festival

The biggest festival of Albanian culture in Australia “Shepparton Albanian Harvest Festival” was held yesterday at Queens Gardens. Hundreds of Albanians were present, they had traveled from different parts of Australia to be part of this unique event.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who was involved and those who traveled near and far to make this weekend a success for our region! Of course this activity shows that as a community – we can come together to show the great things that happen here:, writes the Albanian-born mayor of Shepparton, Shane Sali, on his Facebook profile.

The former mayor of Sheparton, Kim O’Keeffe, was also a part of the celebrations of the Armenian community, who wrote, “It is wonderful to see so many people participating from far and wide. A fantastic day with great food, entertainment and lots of activities for children”.

“Shepparton Albanian Harvest Festival” is one of the largest events of the presentation of Albanian values, culture, and cultural and gastronomic heritage in Australia. In 2021 this activity was awarded the cultural heritage award in Greater Shepparton, Australia, in the category of intercultural and indigenous community activities and tourism.
