Albanian Bekim Callaku shows how he became hero in Denmark

Bekim Callaku on August 11, 2014, while returning home after a meeting in one of the Albanian associations lost his way. Instinctively he drives along the intersection of Mågevej and Tornsagervej in Copenhagen thinking he would find his way home. But Callaku faced a scene of aggression. He saw a man hitting a woman in her head and neck with a kitchen knife. Next to the woman was lying down a child who had also been stabbed.
Bekim Callaku stopped his car and ran towards the man, where he tried to stop him. They came out and fought, and the man stopped by pointing the knife to Bekim Callaku. But Callaku managed to defeat the man, after which he tried to take his knife with a hit. He eventually succeeded with the help of witnesses and police.
Thankfully the wife and child survived, though the woman in the wheelchair and the child with brain injuries.
In an interview given a few days ago for RTV he has once again explained in detail the event of that day.

For this humane act he was also praised by the “Carnegie” fund for heroism being rewarded with a medal and 20,000 crowns for the heroism shown.
